EHAS will participate in the next edition of European Development Days
EHAS Foundation will participate in the 8th edition of European Development Days, the main European forum on development cooperation that involves international organizations, business, academic and political leaders, as well as civil society. The purpose of this meeting, which will be held on 26-27th November in Brussels, is to exchange experiences and solutions to development problems to generate discussion and learning between professionals and activists.
This year the title of the forum is «A decent life for all by 2030: Building a consensus for a new development agenda,» stressing the importance of reaching a commitment to overcome the remaining challenges of the Millennium Development Goals: the effective eradication of poverty and the guarantee of a sustainable development.
EHAS Foundation will participate with Fair World and UPC in the thematic focus «Science and Innovation for Development», one of the perspectives that are proposed to address challenges and opportunities for cooperation. Through the workshop «Wireless networks in rural areas: Supporting communication and telemedicine services», EHAS will show its researches deploying telecommunications networks to connect remote regions, such as the project of Wireless Technologies for rural areas –TUCAN3G– which is being developed currently with other 10 partners within the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission. Besides, EHAS will share in a practical way its experience approaching health to remote regions through Information and Communications Technologies. The main idea of the workshop is to highlight the crucial role of these tools to solve development challenges such as to guarantee the right to health even in the most remote areas.
